I read the new notes you sent, all 48 pages. The math is actually improving. The entropy section is now at least mathematically coherent, and the learning dynamics stuff is new. I think you could submit this as a preprint, but you should consider spelling your own last name correctly on the title page next time. Also, if you want to be taken seriously, maybe not cite Reddit threads as sources. Just a thought. We are scheduled to meet at 10:00 tomorrow. Do not be late, or I will eat all the pork buns. -J

I wake up to the sound of notifications, and for once it's not a past-due bill or my mom demanding to know why I never call. It's Jian, which means it's something I actually have to deal with. I read the email three times, and yes, he is actually impressed. I scroll back and see I sent him the notes at 2:30 a.m. A few typos, but nothing that would make or break the future of artificial intelligence. I'm on a streak. I crawl out of bed, trip over a pile of laundry, and open my laptop directly onto the simulation code I left running. The model is still chewing its way through the toy dataset, but the loss curve is actually going down for once.
